Guidance Control of Automated Guided Vehicles
This is how the transport via AGV works
The entire transport order is coordinated via the control system of the driverless transport system: from fleet management to route optimisation to the selection of the appropriate load module. The control system also safely and reliably controls the order scheduling of the automated guided vehicles, various parking processes, battery management or traffic regulation. The connection of further system elements (gateways, lifts, etc.) to the automated guided vehicle system is also carried out via the control system.
In this way, all information from the automated guided vehicle system - including any higher-level material flow controls - converges in a control system.
Visualisation of the automated guided vehicle system
In order to realise a sensible planning of the automated guided vehicle system, a system model is created via user interface before commissioning. The graphical user interface is used to interactively create driving courses for the AGV, which can be changed at any time if necessary. Current vehicle positions and future routes of the AGV can be viewed.
In this way, the complete system status is visualised in a way that is comprehensible to the operator.
The architecture of the AGV control system is based on VDI Guideline 4451, Sheet 7. The CALL THE DONKEY automated guided vehicle system communicates with higher-level systems such as ERP or other production planning and material flow control systems, if necessary also with production machines or others, and in this way creates an economical automation of complex transport processes.
